Operation Successful

[RECAP: She was not able to lift her eyelids.]

So I decided operating on her eye. The decission came all of a sudden in the dark of the night and I forcibly tried to rip things apart. As a result, the situation worsened. I felt loosened eye-muscles fell all over the floor; but was unable to find any. Infact, they didn’t. All the tiny pieces had entered much inside the eye.

Now patience really appeared to be a virtue. I arranged another camera in the night to take snapshots as I proceed with the operation. Well, then decided to watch ‘The Counterfeiters’ and postponed the operation till the morning. It really was a tough decission.

Sunday morning, I got up at 9 as opposed to my usual 1PM stuff. And the operation began.

Opened the cover again and tried to figure out if anything seemed missing.

Atleast, no muscles were missing!

Now remove them one by one…

One lid off

One lid off

And now cleared all the stuff.

Everything off

Everything off

Now it’s time to bring the stuff back from the ice chamber and re-assemble. Stretch the muscles and attach to each other.

Wow, she never closed the eyelids this tight!

Fix the muscles, one at a time!

But problem is that you never learn from the mistakes. Don’t stretch things too much! Nothing was in position now.

Things broke apart; again

Things broke apart; again

Unless things break, you won’t really get a chance to prove your ability to fix!

All fixed so perfectly

All fixed so perfectly

Wow! I had never seen her eye lids closed so tight! may be she will get nice sleep hereafter.

Seems all's well

Let’s wrap things up then. Clean the surface and put the skin back.

Almost there

Now she was shifted to another bed for a photo session.

Few minutes later, she was declared fit and discharged form the operation theatre. And yes, now she can see the world in full.

BTW, the surgeon forgot feviquik to fix the skin properly. So she may need to see the doc sometime next week.
